We are certified Microsoft Power Platform Developers

We've been busy renewing and taking new certifications. One certification that we recently passed is the Exam PL-400: Microsoft Power Platform Developer. This exam is designed to measure our knowledge in developing within the power platform. Some of the key components measured are:
Configuring the Microsoft Dataverse

If you're not familiar with what this service is, it is basically your own secure, cloud-based database to manage and use with multiple business applications (such as those in the Microsoft power platform). It comes with some pre-built tables to store data such as Customers, Leads, Opportunities, but you can easily create your own custom tables specific to your business needs.

Using Environment Variables with Cloud Flows

Do you leverage data from multiple applications or services? If you haven't already found a way to integrate the data between them, you should check out Microsoft Cloud Flows, which are part of Power Automate and part of the overall Power Platform.
What are Cloud Flows?
Cloud Flows allow power users to build workflows that integrate a diverse set of apps and services, including Dynamics 365, SharePoint, SQL Server, Act!, Twitter and many more! Each workflow can have one trigger, such as a timer or an incoming email or tweet, and one or many actions, such as creating a Lead in your application of choice and sending a text message to a user.

What are Power Apps Cards?

The Power Platform ecosystem keeps getting bigger and more capable.  Microsoft continues to add functionality to existing components of the platform while simultaneously releasing new ones.  One of the newest components (still in preview as of the writing of this blog) to Power Platform is "Cards.

Microsoft Power Pages is here!

It's official: as of October 12, 2022, the Microsoft Power Portal is now Microsoft Power Pages.  Pages has been in preview since at least May 2022, but it was expected to replace Portal at some point in late 2022.  Now that Pages has been released and is officially replacing Portal, Microsoft is working hard to update their documentation around this incredible Power Platform component.

Trigger conditions in Power Automate Flow

Power Automate provides some incredibly powerful capabilities around business process automation, especially within the context of Dynamics 365 and the Dataverse.  From automating simple tasks such as automatically generating subfolders whenever a parent folder is created to tasks requiring complex conditional logic, Power Automate flows can handle the brunt of your automated business processes and so much more.

The 3 BIG Myths of a Technology Internship

Here at Beringer, we play with technology all the time.
We're deep into cutting edge technologies like…

Microsoft Azure integration services
Microsoft Azure DevOps pipeline deployment
Microsoft .NET application development
Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365
Microsoft Office 365 and Azure Active Directory
Managed services and support applications
Cyber security and compliance solutions
Microsoft Cloud Productivity

You may not be aware of what these technologies are, but you shouldn't let that scare you away from an internship in technology.

Transitioning D365 workflows with custom plugins to Flows

If you're like most D365 organizations, you use background workflows. Depending on the nature of your business, you likely have custom plugins embedded in many of those background workflows. While Microsoft hasn't officially announced the deprecation of background workflows, they are recommending that you transition to using MS Flows.

Microsoft Power Automate Flow Error Handling

Microsoft Power Automate provides rich and powerful tools, connectors, and logic to automate many common business processes within Dynamics 365 and the Dataverse as a whole.  With flow functionality slowly replacing legacy Dynamics 365 workflows, Power Platform administrators and customizers now more than ever have the ability to build automations up and across to other products and solutions using various data connectors.
