Retire Tape Backup, Update your Disaster Recovery to NAS BDR’s!

A recent study showed that, of companies experiencing a “major loss” of computer records, 43 percent never reopened, 51 percent closed within two years of the loss, and only 6 percent survived over the long-term. For small and medium-sized businesses, having a business continuity strategy grounded in robust data backup and recovery technologies is critical. Few could survive loss of their email, accounting data, patient and client files, company records, client legal records or other vital data. Yet many companies can’t afford optimal in-house strategies for business continuation; they risk substantial setbacks or even elimination after any major loss of data.

Beringer Associates can help

Overview

Our comprehensive managed backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions fully protect your data. And, we ensure that your business stays operational, even if IT hardware or facilities are threatened.

How it works…

We place a Network Attached Storage, Backup and Disaster Recovery (NAS BDR) device at your site. The NAS BDR device is a hard drive based backup system. Backup software is installed on your servers, this software performs image-level backups of your servers (as often as every 1 hour) to the on-site NAS device. The backups are then uploaded daily to our secured redundant data center.

The NAS BDR device itself is a fully functioning server. This allows us to temporarily replace a failed server, using the NAS BDR hardware and backup files, in the event of a server drive or motherboard failure or server data corruption. This same functionality is available in the cloud, online.

We can restore data (complete folders, individual files, emails, server and PC images, entire inboxes, etc.) from the on-site NAS BDR device to a failed server or other machine, once it is repaired or replaced. If your facility experiences a disaster that takes the NAS device out of service we can provide access to your servers and data in a virtual, online environment in our datacenter while the server room and your hardware is replaced or rebuilt.

Our support department monitors your backups proactively. Failed processes generate immediate alerts to our engineers, 8-5 EST, who can remotely correct errors within minutes of receiving notification.
