Microsoft will be departing from the old edge and moving to a new Chromium-based browser. Google uses the Chromium open-source project to make Google Chrome. For the everyday Chrome users, Microsoft Edge will look identical features but with Microsoft's spin on the platform.

Microsoft Support Changes
Microsoft plans to make changes so that only the current version of Office, Windows, and Server licensing is supported. This means that changes for organizations will occur for those that are not up to date on the latest versions of their Microsoft products.
