The Dynamics 365 & Power Platform 2023 Wave 1 release is here

The Dynamics 365 and Power Platform 2023 Release Wave 1 is here, and it brings new innovations that will provide significant capabilities to transform your business. While this release wave of the year offers hundreds of new features and enhancements across all of their applications, I’m excited on what’s coming for Customer Insights and Pro Development.

Pro Development

Code-first developers will now be able to create both APIs and connectors from within Microsoft Visual Studio! This is incredibly impactful for developers for a couple reasons. We can now capture all code and data used for development, and capture the change history in our source control Azure DevOps. We can also tie the development into our pipeline deployment process, and strategically push out new technology to all of our customers.

Customer Insights

In Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, and Marketing, Customer Insights activities will now appear in the unified activity timeline. This is the same activity timeline already used today to add or view activities such as notes, posts, emails, and appointments across Accounts, Contacts, and Leads. Customer Insights activities within the Dynamics 365 activity timeline can be filtered, searched, and updated dynamically.

Microsoft will start rolling out these new features, starting March 1st, 2023. Deployment is based on region, and is detailed here.
