Microsoft Dynamics 365 User Adoption: Internet, Outlook and Mobile (oh my!)
One of the great features of Dynamics 365 is that it can be accessible anywhere: through an internet browser, Outlook or on a mobile device. To encourage user adoption, it’s best to ensure that you offer Dynamics 365 through the method your users prefer.
Internet
Dynamics 365 works on any internet browser. If your organization is on the cloud (Dynamics 365 Online) the internet is the default method of accessing CRM data.
If you are using an on-premise solution, you will need to configure Internet Facing Deployment (IFD) to gain access to CRM data through a browser. To learn more about the steps involved with configuring IFD, see this article from Microsoft.
Outlook
Does your organization rely on Outlook? Have no fear – Dynamics 365 has a native integration with Outlook via the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook. This app is a Microsoft office add-in that provides a dynamics 365 assistant for Outlook desktop, web or mobile. It’s extremely simple to manage and deploy directly from within Dynamics 365. With just a few clicks, you can regard an email from a prospective client, create a lead and update fields. It performs very quickly, using the Dynamics Web API to retrieve data in real time.
Mobile
If you have a mobile sales team, you will want to check out the Dynamics 365 for Phones App. With the v9 update, Microsoft presented a huge improvement in the app. Leveraging the unified user interface, mobile app users can not only perform all CRM tasks, they can also use the new Timeline display of activities, notes and posts and walk through Task Flows.
